URC HDA devices and software provide countless options to configure and optimize audio settings to achieve performance and flexibility for almost any application.
The following article details the HDA-8100, HDA-4100 and HDA-1600 Fan Idle Speed update using firmware version 1403 (and later). This update reduces the idle fan speed and reduces the apparent noise levels of the HDA devices.
HDA-8100, HDA-4100 and HDA-1600 Fan Idle Speed Adjustment
- The internal fan of the HDA-1600, 4100, and 8100 is required for proper cooling of the amplifier channels.
- With HDA Firmware version 1403 (and later), the idle speed of the internal fan of the HDA-1600, 4100 and 8100 is lowered, decreasing the audible fan noise by about 10dB.
- A 10dB reduction has a 50% reduction in the perceived volume and sounds half as loud to the human ear.
